Arizona Community Education Association (AZCEA) Awards

Community Educators do not have to look far to find colleagues or programs in Arizona doing amazing work for the children and families they serve. The Arizona Community Education Association is proud to recognize these Community Educators and programs at its annual conference each spring in the following Categories:

AZCEA Awards Selection Criteria

All award nominations must be submitted no later than February 28, 2017.

  • Program of the Year

    VISA giftcard award of $300: Recipients of the Program of the Year award demonstrate excellence in overall program design and delivery that meets the needs of the community. Program participants are not limited by age, but could include anyone from infants to adults. A total of 1 recipient may be awarded each year.

  • Program Leader of the Year

    VISA giftcard award of $150/each: Recipients of the Program Leader of the Year award exemplify what it means to lead a team of individuals to successfully implement a high quality program that meets the needs of the community from infants to adults. Leaders must work directly with the program line staff at the specific location they are assigned. A total of 3 recipients may be awarded each year.

  • Office Staff of the Year

    Visa Gift Card award of $150/each: Recipients of the Office Staff of the Year award consistently go above and beyond to help deliver outstanding customer service to all customers both internal and external. Staff may be responsible for specific projects and outcomes or provide general a customer service, but they must be the initial point of contact in the office. A total of 3 recipients may be awarded each year.

  • Program Line Staff of the Year

    VISA giftcard award of $150/each: Recipients of the Program Line Staff of the Year award consistently go above and beyond to help deliver outstanding programming to all participants. Staff may be responsible for specific projects and outcomes, but they must also work on the “front line” with program participants. A total of 3 recipients may be awarded each year.

  • Facility Rental Staff of the Year

    Visa Gift Card award of $150/each: Recipients of the Facility Rental Staff of the Year award consistently go above and beyond to help outside user groups who rent district space. Staff must work at the rental site during the rental period as a custodian, field ranger, etc. A total of 3 recipients may be awarded each year.

  • Administrator/Regional Leader of the Year

    VISA giftcard award of $150/each: Recipients of the Administrator/Regional Leader of the Year award have a proven track record of leading teams of staffs across multiple programs and/or locations. Through their efforts, continuous quality improvement thrives as well as overall program and/or department effectiveness and efficiency. Administrators/regional leaders must be responsible for total program oversight across multiple types of programs and/or locations. They could be considered district administrators or support staff, but they must have full supervisory responsibility for teams of individuals as well as complete budgetary oversight. A total of 3 recipients may be awarded each year.

  • Community Educator of the Year

    VISA giftcard award of $400: The recipient of the Community Educator of the Year award has repeatedly exhibited leadership in all aspects of their work which resulted in a high level of community impact for a significant amount of time. The community educator must have at least 15 years of service and is identified as a leader in the work/field. This recipient does not have to be in a defined leadership role (i.e., program leader, administrator, regional leader), but instead could support their department or program from any position. Only 1 recipient will be awarded each year.
